Jon Hamm joins Edgar Wright's Baby Driver

Mad Men, Season 2

Story by Jack Foley

JON Hamm has landed his first movie role post-Mad Men in Edgar Wright’s crime thriller Baby Driver.

The actor will line up alongside Ansel Elgort and Lily James.

The film will focus on a getaway driver, a near mute with an ear condition, who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game.

However, after being coerced into working for a crime boss, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hamm will play one of the film’s villains, who is described as a former Wall Street trader-turned-cop killer who forms part of the gang of bank robbers.

James plays the love interest, a waitress, with Elgort portraying the driver.

Hamm is coming to the project with a long-deserved Emmy win for his work on Mad Men, having been nominated for best actor eight years without finding success.

Wright is best known for his movies Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
