Julianne Moore in early talks for final two Hunger Games movies
Story by Jack Foley
JULIANNE Moore is in early talks to join the final two films in The Hunger Games series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress would play District 13 leader Alma Coin in the two-part adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ Mockingjay.
Talks are only at a very early stage so there is no guarantee that Moore will end up in the role, which is seen as one of the most important in the final book.
In novel form, President Coin is in charge of the district where Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence in the movies) is fighting against the tyrannical Capitol regime. She subsequently clashes with Katniss as her methods and motivations draw suspicion.
If successful, Moore would join an ensemble that also includes Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Francis Lawrence, who directed the upcoming sequel Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is also returning to helm the final two films.
