Jurassic World sequel to hit cinemas in summer 2018

Jurassic World

Story by Jack Foley

THE sequel to Jurassic World is to hit cinemas in the summer of 2018.

Universal has announced that the follow-up to the dinosaur reboot has a release date of Friday, June 22, 2018.

Furthermore, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return to star, while Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, who did a rewrite on World, will return to pen the script for the sequel – although it is not yet confirmed whether Trevorrow will direct this time around.

Steven Spielberg will return to executive produce and Frank Marshall will also produce.

A sequel has always been kind of an inevitability but since opening in June, Jurassic World has become one of the biggest successes in the history of Universal. It is now the third highest grossing US release of all time with $614.3 million, and the third world-wide release of all time, with $1.5 billion world-wide to date (and counting).
