Justin Timberlake joins Facebook movie
Story by Jack Foley
JUSTIN Timberlake, Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield have joined the cast of David Fincher’s Facebook movie, The Social Network.
The film will chronicle the evolution of social networking site Facebook from its creation in 2004 on a Harvard campus, while examining how overnight success and wealth changed the lives of the classmates who created it.
Eisenberg will play founder Mark Zuckerberg, Timberlake is Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook’s founding president, and Garfield will play Eduardo Saverin, another co-founder who fell out with Zuckerberg once the money started to roll in.
Eisenberg was most recently seen in the coming-of-age movie Adventureland and will next be seen in Zombieland. British actor Garfield broke through in Robert Redford’s Lions For Lambs and has since featured prominently in acclaimed TV drama, Red Riding.
The Social Network is being scripted by Aaron Sorkin, of The West Wing fame, and is due to go into production next month in Boston and LA.
