KATE Hudson has joined the cast of Zach Braff’s Kickstarter film, Wish I Was Here.

The Glee star is the latest addition to the ensemble, which also now boasts Mandy Patinkin, Anna Kendrick, Jim Parsons and Josh Gad among its line-up.

Hudson will play Braff’s wife, according to Variety.

The film, which was co-written by Braff and his brother Adam, follows a struggling actor, husband and father (played by Braff) trying to find his identity and purpose at the age of 35.

He winds up trying to home-school his two children when his father can no longer afford to pay for private education and the only available public school is on its last legs.

Braff announced the casting news on his Kickstarter page, having successfully raised $2.68 million in 26 days from nearly 40,000 fans.

He opted to try to finance the passion project independently, using Kickstarter, in order to maintain creative freedom.

Shoot is due to commence on the film in Los Angeles this summer.
