KATE Winslet is to reunite with her Titanic director James Cameron for his forthcoming Avatar sequels.

As yet, it remains uncertain how many of the four planned sequels to Cameron’s 2009 film the Oscar-winning British actress will appear in. And there have been no character details released.

Cameron is currently filming Avatar 2 and 3 concurrently and then plans to shoot 4 and 5 simultaneously soon after.

He is also getting involved in a new Terminator revival, as a hands-on producer.

Winslet and Cameron made box office history in 1997 when Titanic was released in cinemas and became an unprecedented success, raking in $2.1 billion worldwide to become the top-grossing film of all time.

That record stood until Cameron’s Avatar dethroned it.

Avatar 2 is currently scheduled to open on December 18, 2020, followed by Avatar 3 in 2021, Avatar 4 in 2024 and Avatar 5 in 2025.

Winslet will shortly be seen in the survival thriller The Mountain Between Us, opposite Idris Elba, and she is also set to feature prominently in Woody Allen’s forthcoming Wonder Wheel for Amazon, which is due out in December.
