Keira Knightley to star in and produce The Other Typist

Anna Karenina

Story by Jack Foley

KEIRA Knightley is poised to star in and produce an adaptation of The Other Typist.

Based on the debut novel by Suzanne Rindell, the film would follow a woman named Rose, described as a lonely and isolated typist in a police precinct, who strikes up a friendship with a beautiful and mysterious co-worker who introduces her to the glamorous and forbidden underworld of 1920s New York.

The book was only published in May but drew positive reviews, with critics noting similarities to the work of Hitchcock, Patricia Highsmith and F Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.

Fox Searchlight has acquired the rights to the book, reveals The Hollywood Reporter, but as yet, there is no word on who might direct.

Knightley was most recently seen in another adaptation, Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina and has just completed work on the blockbuster Jack Ryan alongside Chris Pine.
