Kevin Costner is joining Tarantino's Django Unchained

Kevin Costner in Rumour Has It

Story by Jack Foley

KEVIN Costner is joining the all-star cast of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

The spaghetti Western follows a slave (Jamie Foxx) in the Old South who teams up with a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) to search for his wife, now in the possession of a ruthless plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Costner’s role would be “a vile and sadistic trainer of slaves” who are forced to fight in death matches for the sadistic pleasure of DiCaprio’s plantation owner. It would mark something of a departure from the good-guy roles the actor is more commonly associated with.

Samuel L Jackson, meanwhile, is also in the cast as a head slave who works for DiCaprio and relishes his status over the other slaves.

Costner has also recently landed the part of Superman’s Earth-bound father, Pa Kent, in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel movie. Find out more
