KURT Russell is reportedly being lined up to co-star in Fast & Furious 7.

According to Variety, the actor is in talks to take up a role initially offered to – but turned down by – Denzel Washington.

As yet, the exact role hasn’t been confirmed.

But Russell is yet another high profile name to be attached to the ever-expanding seventh instalment of the Fast franchise. Tony Jaa was recently confirmed to join Jason Statham among the newcomers, while UFC star Ronda Rousey was yet another recent announcement.

Fast & Furious 7 will also bring back most of its talent from the franchise, including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, producer Neal H. Moritz and writer Chris Morgan – although James Wan is coming on as director to replace the departing Justin Lin.

No plot details have been unveiled although it is expected that the film will return to Los Angeles after the previous five films were set in other locations.

Fast & Furious 6 is the highest grossing film in Universal’s history, having made more than $750 million at the worldwide box office.

Filming is due to commence in September on the seventh film.
