Liam Neeson to star in revenge thriller Hard Powder

Story by Jack Foley

LIAM Neeson is to return to the action genre with revenge thriller Hard Powder.

Set in the Rocky Mountains, the film will find Neeson playing Nels, an upright snowplough driver in a Colorado ski town whose life is turned upside down when his son is murdered by the powerful local drug kingpin.

Swearing revenge, he sets about dismantling the cartel, only to find that his vengeful crusade sparks a turf war between a Viking gangster and a Native American Mafia boss.

Hans Petter Moland is directing from a screenplay by Frank Baldwin.

Neeson has been an action mainstay since redefining his career with the Taken film series. Further hits include Non-Stop and A Walk Among The Tombstones.

The actor did return to more serious fare last year when he took a role in Martin Scorsese’s long-gestating drama Silence.

His upcoming projects promise more diversity, including Peter Landesman’s Watergate bio-drama Felt, Neil Jordan’s The Trainer and Jaume Collet-Serra’s actioner The Commuter.
