Lily Collins joins resurrected Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Lily Collins, Abduction

Story by Jack Foley

LILY Collins is to star in the film version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies now that it has been revived from the dead.

The adaptation of the mash-up novel by Seth Grahame-Smith was originally set up at Lionsgate with Natalie Portman but has stalled several times since, with directors including David O. Russell and Craig Gillespie attached at various points.

Scarlett Johansson, Mia Wasikowska and Anne Hathaway were also linked to the film on several occasions.

But the film’s producers, of which Portman remains one, continued to push for the film and have now cast Collins in the lead role.

Burr Steers, the filmmaker behind the Zac Efron movies 17 Again and Charlie St. Cloud, will direct.

Collins recently starred in Mirror, Mirror and has this summer’s Mortal Instruments: City of Bones completed. The latter is being viewed as a potential new franchise.
