Mackenzie Davis in talks for Terminator reboot

Mackenzie Davis

Story by Jack Foley

MACKENZIE Davis is in advanced talks to join Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the latest Terminator reboot.

Deadpool‘s Tim Miller is directing the new film, which, for the first time since 1991’s Terminator: Judgment Day, has original director James Cameron involved.

Skydance, the company behind 2015’s Terminator Genisys and Annihilation, is producing the movie.

Unsurprisingly, plot details are being kept under wraps, but – according to The Hollywood Reporter – Davis would play a soldier-assassin on a mission.

She would be a human character in a movie that once again sets up the battle between humans and machines.

However, she may not be the main star as, according to sources, the makers of the film are keen to land a Latin star in one of the major roles. If successful, the new Terminator – which is currently due to be released on July 26, 2019 – could spawn a trilogy.

Davis recently appeared in Blade Runner 2049 and was one of the stars of AMC’s critically-acclaimed TV drama Halt and Catch Fire.
