FRENCH actress Marion Cotillard is in talks to star opposite Brad Pitt in Robert Zemeckis’ untitled World War II drama.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will see Pitt and Cotillard playing assassins who fall in love during a mission in Casablanca to kill a German ambassador.

The duo eventually marry but find their happiness to be short-lived when Pitt’s character, a French-Canadian, is informed his wife is a double agent working for the German government. He is therefore ordered to kill her.

Robert Zemeckis is directing the drama as well as co-producing.

Shooting is due to commence early in 2016 on location in Casablanca, London and Canada. As yet, no release date has been set.

Zemeckis has only recently wrapped The Walk, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
