MARK Ruffalo’s Hulk character looks set to appear in Marvel’s Thor 3: Ragnarok.

Work on the film is being moved quickly into pre-production now that a director has been appointed in Taika Waititi.

And according to The Hollywood Reporter, the popular Hulk character looks set to line up alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor for the latest instalment.

The move could further fuel speculation that Hulk, aka Bruce Banner, might eventually get his own stand-alone movie. Although that could be complicated by the question of who owns the rights – according to some sources, Universal has the distribution rights even though Marvel now has the character.

Thus far, Hulk has only appeared in the first Avengers film and its sequel, Age of Ultron.

As yet, plot details remain sketchy on the third Thor but further excitement is sure to be created from the news that Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, and Jamie Alexander, who plays Lady Sif, are also returning to the franchise.

Thor 3: Ragnarok is set for a November 3, 2017 release.
