Matthew McConaughey confirms Christopher Nolan's Interstellar

Magic Mike

Story by Jack Foley

MATTHEW McConaughey is to unite with Christopher Nolan for new sci-fi epic Interstellar.

Very few details are known about the film’s characters but the script by Jonathan Nolan – Christopher’s brother – reportedly revolves around time travel, alternate dimensions and a group of explorers traveling through a wormhole.

McConaughey first hinted at his involvement in an interview with StarTribune but The Hollywood Reporter has since confirmed the casting news via his publicist.

The Nolan union continues a remarkable turnaround in the actor’s fortunes. Having previously been better known for his rom-com roles and taking his shirt off, McConaughey has been getting serious with turns as a strip club owner (Magic Mike), a killer (Killer Joe) and a lawyer (The Lincoln Lawyer).

He also has Dallas Buyers Club and Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street in post-production and is attached to Ken Nolan’s action thriller Thunder Run, which is in development. There is also talk of a Magic Mike sequel.

Christopher and Jonathan Nolan most recently completed their Batman trilogy with The Dark Knight Rises
