X-Men: First Class

MATTHEW Vaughn has committed himself to a sequel to superhero movie X-Men: First Class.

The news was broken on Deadline.com, which reported that Twentieth Century Fox has also confirmed that a sequel is in the works with all of the original cast (including leads James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender) back on board.

Bryan Singer will return as producer, with Sherlock Holmes writer Simon Kinberg on script duties. As yet, no release date or production start date has been confirmed although sources predict a 2014 debut looks likely.

X-Men: First Class marked a successful reboot for Marvel’s mutant franchise last year.
