McG's Captain Nemo runs aground at Disney
Story by Jack Foley
DISNEY has halted production on McG’s blockbuster update of Captain Nemo: 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.
The film was due to begin production next February, according to Variety, but a start date has now been postponed indefinitely and McG is no longer attached.
It was to have been an origins story focusing on how Captain Nemo constructed his warship, The Nautilus.
Disney is now expected to focus on the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, which is due to set sail in May, while McG will reportedly move on to the drama Dead Spy Running for Warner Bros.
He also remains attached to a fifth Terminator movie, which would continue the Terminator Salvation storyline, although that also remains on hold while the owners of the franchise head to bankruptcy court.
