Men In Black 4 in development at Sony
Story by Jack Foley
A FOURTH Men In Black film is in the works at Sony.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oren Uziel has been hired to pen a draft.
The in-demand scribe has already been tapped to work on the sequel to 21 Jump Street and would commence work on MIB4 once that has been completed.
The film is still very much in the early stages of development and it is not clear how involved franchise star Will Smith is. But Sony is keen to capitalise on the successful revival of the franchise last year when Men In Black III took $624 million world-wide.
As yet, there are no deals in place for any acting talent to return, including Men in Black III newcomers Josh Brolin and Emma Thompson.
In the meantime, it’s full steam ahead on the 21 Jump Street follow-up, which has already been given a June 6, 2014 release date in the US.
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are also confirmed to return as stars along with Phil Lord and Chris Miller as directors.
There is no word on plot as yet but the sequel is expected to take place in a college setting rather than a high school one.
Hill and Michael Bacall wrote the initial draft for the new movie.
