Michael B Jordan set to join Black Panther movie

Fruitvale Station

Story by Jack Foley

MICHAEL B Jordan is set to star in Marvel’s Black Panther.

The Creed star would reunite with director Ryan Coogler for the third time, following their acclaimed work together on the Rocky spin-off as well as indie drama Fruitvale Station.

As yet, though, Jordan’s role is unknown.

But he will line up alongside Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the prince of the African nation of Wakanda, who must take over the mantel after his father’s murder – witnessed as part of the events of Captain America: Civil War, the film that introduced the Black Panther character to the current Marvel universe.

Lupita Nyong’o is also currently in negotiations to join the film as Black Panther’s love interest.

The stand-alone Black Panther film is currently due to open on February 16, 2018.

Joe Robert Cole is co-penning the script with Coogler, while Kevin Feige is producing the movie.
