Michael C Hall joins Daniel Radcliffe ensemble Kill Your Darlings

Dexter: Season 5

Story by Jack Foley

MICHAEL C. Hall – aka TV’s Dexter – has joined the cast of Daniel Radcliffe ensemble Kill Your Darlings along with Ben Foster, Kyra Sedgwick and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

The heavyweight foursome also join Elizabeth Olsen, Dane DeHaan and Jack Huston in the movie, which is based on a script by John Krokidas and marks the directorial debut of Austin Bunn.

The fill will tell the previously untold story of murder that brought together a young Allen Ginsberg (Radcliffe), Jack Kerouac (Huston) and William Burroughs (Foster) at Columbia University in 1944.

It also provides the spark that would lead to their Beat Revolution.

Talking about the film while promoting his latest release, The Woman in Black, Radcliffe said he was very excited about the project, which he’d been linked with in an earlier incarnation but had to pass up because of his commitment to the final two Harry Potter movies.

The young actor said: “It’s about a murder that was sort of the catalyst for forming the beat generation. I’ll be playing a 19-year-old Allen Ginsberg and Dane DeHaan, a young actor who is fantastic, is playing Lucien Carr, who is my best friend at the time, Jack Huston is playing Jack Kerouac and Elizabeth Olsen is playing Edie Parker.

“It’s a very, very exciting… again, James [Watkins]’ second film was The Woman in Black; John Krokidas, our director, is making his first feature. As I was saying to someone earlier, everyone wants to work with Scorsese and Spielberg, and who wouldn’t, but I find it equally exciting the prospect that I might be working with the next Scorsese or the next Spielberg. I think it’s very exciting to work with young, hungry directors.”
