MICHAEL K Williams has joined the cast of the Han Solo movie spin-off.

As yet, it is not known which role the Boardwalk Empire luminary is in talks for.

But shooting is already underway on the Lucasfilm production, which will see Alden Ehrenreich as the young Solo and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.

Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke are also set to star.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are behind the camera, directing from a script by father-son duo Jon and Lawrence Kasdan.

The still untitled project, which is set to take place before the events of A New Hope, is due to be released in cinemas on May 25, 2018.

Williams can currently be seen in the ABC mini-series When We Rise. His other TV credits include HBO’s brilliant The Night Of as well as the seminal The Wire.

His recent feature credits include Assassin’s Creed and Inherent Vice.
