Michelle Yeoh joins Gunpower Milkshake alongside Karen Gillan

MICHELLE Yeoh has joined the cast of Gunpowder Milkshake.

The actress, who recently signed on to the Avatar sequel, most recently starred in the world-wide sensation Crazy Rich Asians. According to Studio Canal, she has landed a key role.

Written and Directed by Navot Papushado (Big Bad Wolves), Gunpowder Milkshake is a female driven high-concept assassin film that has a rich mythology and spans multiple generations.

The film will shoot at the Babelsberg Film Studio, Germany, with principal photography commencing June 3m 2019. Ehud Lavski has co-written the script.

Confirmed cast already announced are Karen Gillan (Avengers: Endgame, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Guardians of the Galaxy), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, 300), 9-1-1 and Black Panther star Angela Basset and Paul Giamatti (Billions, Straight Outta Compton, Sideways).

STUDIOCANAL will release the film in their own territories: the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and France – selling the rest of the world.

In addition to her role in Crazy Rich Asians, Yeoh is best known for roles in Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Rob Marshall’s Memoirs of a Geisha, Roger Spottiswoode’s James Bond entry Tomorrow Never Dies and Danny Boyle’s Sunshine.

She also starred in Luc Besson’s critically acclaimed The Lady and voiced a role in the Dreamworks animated hit, Kung Fu Panda 2.
