Mission: Impossible 6 given Summer 2018 release date

MISSION: Impossible 6 will be released in cinemas on July 27, 2018, according to Paramount Pictures.

The film, which follows the success of Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation, will be based on a story by Christopher McQuarrie, who will also direct. McQuarrie also helmed Rogue Nation.

Tom Cruise will reprise his role as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, with Rogue Nation‘s Rebecca Ferguson also due to return.

Paramount also announced that filmmaker Alexander Payne’s Downsizing, starring Matt Damon, will open nationwide in the US on December 22, 2017, which places it in the heart of the awards season.

The sci-fi comedy-drama stars Damon opposite Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz, Alec Baldwin, Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Sudeikis.
