Naomie Harris joins Dwayne Johnson in Rampage

Story by Jack Foley

NAOMIE Harris is to star alongside Dwayne Johnson in new adventure movie Rampage.

The actress, who was Oscar nominated for her performance in Moonlight, is to play a geneticist with a moral streak, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rampage is based on a popular 1980s video game and will focus on three creatures – a monstrously transformed gorilla, crocodile and wolf – who wreak havoc on North American cities and landmarks.

Johnson is on board to play an animal-loving hero who is the world’s only hope.

The film will see Johnson reuniting with producer Beau Flynn and director Brad Peyton following their work on San Andreas and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.

Rampage is currently set for release on April 20, 2018.

British-born Harris has been riding high on the critical acclaim surrounding Barry Jenkins’ gay coming-of-age drama Moonlight, in which she plays an abusive mother. She has nabbed a slew of nominations, including Golden Globe, BAFTA and SAG Awards.

But she is perhaps best known for her recurring role as Moneypenny in the Daniel Craig James Bond series.

Johnson, whose animated film Moana has also been Oscar nominated, also has Baywatch, Fast & Furious 8 and Jumanji on the way.
