Nicole Kidman to star in Adrian Lyne's The Silent Wife

Nicole Kidman in Cold Mountain

Story by Jack Foley

NICOLE Kidman, currently starring in the West End production of Photograph 51, is to head the cast of Adrian Lyne’s new thriller, The Silent Wife.

The Oscar-winning actress will play Jodi, a dedicated wife who remains faithful despite her husband Todd’s frequent indiscretions.

However, when she is finally confronted with the brutal truth of him leaving her for a younger woman, Jodi will not accept defeat and what starts out as a tragic dissolution of a marriage then spirals into a game of cat and mouse with calamitous stakes.

Lyne is no stranger to this kind of territory, having previously directed the films Fatal Attraction, Unfaithful and Indecent Proposal.

He will be working from a script that has been adapted by Billy Ray (of Captain Phillips and Shattered Glass fame).

As yet, there is no news on who will play Kidman’s philandering husband or the young woman he runs away with. No release date has been set either.
