Noomi Rapace keen to return for Prometheus sequel
Story by Jack Foley
NOOMI Rapace has underlined her commitment to a Prometheus sequel by saying that she has recently met with director Ridley Scott in London about the prospect.
In an interview with The Playlist, she said that a script was in development but the right idea had to be found.
“They’re working on the script, [and] I met Ridley in London a couple of weeks ago,” she said. “I would love to work with him again and I know that he would like to do another one. It’s just like we need to find the right story. I hope we will.”
Asked to elaborate further on what she would be looking for in a potential sequel, Rapace said a furthering of the film’s philosophical themes.
““It’s interesting because most people I’ve talked to who see the [first] movie, see things that are quite different,” she continued. “Some people who see the movie many times… discover new things. There are all these religious aspects and there are very interesting conversations.
“And for me, if we do a second one, there are a lot of things to explore in there and to continue.”
Damon Lindelof, who co-wrote the original Prometheus, will not be returning for any follow-up.
Rapace will next be seen alongside Colin Farrell in the thriller Dead Man Down, which reunites her with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo director Niels Arden Oplev
