Preview by Jack Foley
FOR one night only, on Saturday, February 22, 2014, British cinema audiences will have the opportunity to watch the double bill of Nymphomaniac Volume I & II back-to-back, screened simultaneously in cinemas nationwide.
The special event will be followed by an on-stage interview with Stellan Skarsgård and Stacy Martin that will be hosted by Edith Bowman and broadcast live via satellite from the Curzon Chelsea, London.
Cinemas around the country will be invited to take part in the night via social media, including the chance to ask your questions to the stars. The night promises to be a memorable and unique experience. Expect more announcements soon.
Nymphomaniac is the wild and poetic story of a woman’s journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe (Stacy Martin and Charlotte Gainsbourg).
On a cold winter’s evening the old, charming bachelor, Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård), finds Joe beaten up in an alley. He brings her home to his flat where he cares for her wounds while asking her about her life.
He listens intently as Joe over the next eight chapters recounts the lushy branched-out and multifaceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.
