Pasha Lychnikoff and newcomer Ana Ularu join Keanu Reeves in Siberia

Story by Jack Foley

PASHA Lychnikoff and newcomer Ana Ularu have joined the cast of Keanu Reeves’ romantic thriller Siberia as production gets underway.

Written by Oscar nominee Scott B. Smith (A Simple Plan), and based on a treatment by Stephen Hamel, Siberia follows Lucas (Reeves), an American diamond merchant, who travels to Russia to sell rare blue diamonds of questionable origin.

As the deal begins to collapse he falls into an obsessive relationship with Katya (Ularu), a Russian cafe owner, in a small Siberian town.

As their passion builds, so does the treacherous world of the diamond trade from which he is unable to extricate himself. Both collide as the American man desperately looks for escape in a world with no exit.

Lychnikoff will play Boris Volkov, chief antagonist to Reeves’ character.

Lychnikoff can currently be seen on Showtime’s Shameless and CBSNCIS Los Angeles. He just wrapped an arc on Showtime’s Ray Donovan and is the star of the mini-series Insomnia, which is coming to Starz this autumn.

Emerging Romanian actress Ana Ularu can currently be seen in NBC’s The Emerald City. She recently appeared opposite Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones in Inferno, directed by Ron Howard, and her other film credits include Susanne Bier’s Serena, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper and Francis Ford Coppola’s Youth Without Youth.

Also among the cast is Molly Ringwald, whose has over 60 credits to her name, including Betsy’s Wedding, Cindy Sherman’s directorial debut Office Killer and iconic movies Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink.

Shooting on Siberia is underway now on location in Winnipeg, Canada and St Petersburg, Russia.
