Paul Giamatti to play King John

PAUL Giamatti is to play King John in Ironclad, a new medieval action epic co-starring James Purefoy.
Variety reports that the film will follow a Knights Templar (played by Purefoy) who leads a seven-strong army in defending Rochester Castle against the tyrannical King John and his troops in 13th Century England.
Jonathan English is set to direct and production is due to begin in Wales next month.
Purefoy was last seen playing Marc Antony in HBO series Rome, while Giamatti will next be seen in the comedy Cold Souls, which is released in October.
