Philomena

Story by Jack Foley

PAUL Rudd (Ant-Man) and Oscar nominee Steve Coogan (Philomena) are set to star in drama/comedy An Ideal Home, written and directed by Andrew Fleming (Hamlet 2, The Craft).

Paul (Rudd) and Erasmus (Coogan) are a bickering couple with an extravagant life. Erasmus is a demanding, popular celebrity, and Paul is his more hesitant partner and sidekick.

But when Bill, the grandson Erasmus never knew he had, shows up at their high class dinner party with nowhere else to go, the couple reluctantly decide to take him in.

Fortitude International is handling foreign rights and sales at the European Film Market.

Fortitude’s Nadine De Barros commented: “Comedy stalwarts Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan are reuniting on the big screen as a squabbling married couple in Andrew’s endearing and hilarious script about modern family and we are delighted to present this charming film to buyers at EFM.”

Paul Rudd most recently co-wrote and starred in Marvel’s Ant-Man, which grossed over $500 million at the box office. Its sequel, Ant-Man And The Wasp will be released in 2018. He will next be seen in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, which is being released by Walt Disney Studios on May 6, 2016.

Rudd will also begin production on Duncan Jones’ Mute later this year.

Coogan received two Oscar nominations for Best Film and Best Adapted Screenplay as well as a Golden Globe nomination for Best Screenplay for Philomena, which he also starred in.

He will next be seen in Oscar nominated writer/director Oren Moverman’s The Dinner, starring Richard Gere and which is based on the international best-seller of the same title,, as well as Warren Beatty’s new film, which is currently untitled and is coming out in the fall.
