Prince of Persia stars attend lavish world premiere
Story by Jack Foley
AMERICAN actor Jake Gyllenhaal and British beauty Gemma Arterton wowed the crowds at the world premiere of their new movie, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in London on Sunday (May 9, 2010).
The red carpet event attracted hundreds of fans to Westfield shopping centre, which marked the first time a premiere has been held there.
Also in attendance were the film’s co-star, Sir Ben Kingsley, director Mike Newell and super producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Both Gyllenhaal and Arterton spent time posing for photographers and signing autographs for fans, before taking questions from the press about the movie’s prospects.
Arterton, meanwhile, dazzled in a Valentino gown, embroidered with thousands of silver beads.
She plays Tamina, Disney’s newest princess, and described the achievement as “very surreal”.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time opens in UK cinemas on May 21, 2010.
