Quantum of Solace: Bond's Aston Martin crashes into lake
Story by Jack Foley
THE Aston Martin used by secret agent James Bond in the latest 007 adventure, Quantum of Solace, has been crashed into an Italian lake – accidentally – by a stunt driver.
The flashy car – reportedly the only one available for use in the next Bond film – ended up in the water when the stuntman lost control around one of the lake’s narrow curves while delivering the iconic Aston Martin DBS to the set in heavy rain.
According to reports in the Italian media, the driver was quickly rescued and taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.
Italian TV, meanwhile, has been showing the still intact car being winched out of the lake.
Daniel Craig will play James Bond for the second time in Quantum of Solace, appearing alongside Mathieu Amalric, Olga Kurylenko and Gemma Arterton. Marc Forster (of Finding Neverland and The Kite Runner fame) is directing, based on a short story by Ian Fleming.
Locations this time around include England, Panama, Chile and Mexico, as well as Italy’s picturesque Lake Garda.
