Quantum of Solace: Earlier release date and footage revealed

Daniel Craig as 007 James Bond

Story by Jack Foley

QUANTUM Of Solace, the latest James Bond film, is to be released earlier than expected in the UK, on October 31, 2008.

News of the date change will delight 007 fans keen to see Daniel Craig return as the secret agent after his successful debut outing in Casino Royale.

The 22nd film in the series had been due for release on November 7 – but will not debut in cinemas a full week ahead of schedule.

The strange title of the film is taken from a short story published by original Bond creator Ian Fleming in 1960 and it will pick up in the aftermath of the events of Casino Royale, when James Bond was left double-crossed and broken hearted by the love of his life, Vesper Lynd (played by Eva Green).

Craig confirmed that Quantum of Solace would find his character going out “to find the guy who’s responsible”.

Filming is still taking place but has already visited Panama and the United States. According to the BBC, the film will open with a car chase in the streets of Siena, Italy.
