Quentin Tarantino to follow Django Unchained with second Western

Django Unchained

Story by Jack Foley

QUENTIN Tarantino has revealed that his next project will be another Western.

The Oscar winning screenwriter (and director, of course) said that he had so much fun making “Django Unchained”: that he wants to have another go at the genre.

Speaking to Jay Leno on The Tonight Show to promote the DC Comics graphic novel version of Django Unchained, the filmmaker dropped his first hint over what to expect from his next project.

“I haven’t told anyone this publicly, but I will say the genre: It’s a western. I had so much fun doing Django, and I love westerns so much that after I taught myself how to make one, it’s like ‘OK! Let me make another one now that I know what I’m doing’.”

Offering a further insight into his writing process, the director also said that his routine had changed in recent years.

Whereas previously be used to write in public places in the morning to “get the juices flowing” and then go home and write all night, when it came to completing the script for Inglourious Basterds his formula changed.

“Around the time of Inglourious Basterds I’d start writing at home from 10 in the morning until 5, or 6 or 7.”

After that session, he’d go for a soak in his pool and contemplate what happens next.

“I sit there, and I think about it and all of these ideas come to me… and I kind of work it out a little bit. Then I get out of the pool and I make notes, but then I don’t do them. Then the next day, that’s my work.”
