RACHEL McAdams is reportedly in talks to play the lead in the new romantic comedy from British writer-director Richard Curtis.

About Time is described as a fantastical feel-good movie about a man and his ability to travel back in time, whereby he eventually meets the girl of his dreams.

Domhnall Gleeson, the son of actor Brendan Gleeson, has already been cast to play the male lead, while Bill Nighy, Tom Hollander, Margot Robbie, Lydia Wilson and Vanessa Kirby also are set to co-star.

Curtis, who wrote and directed Love Actually and penned Bridget Jones’ Diary and War Horse, wrote the script for About Time and intends to direct.

Working Title’s Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Liza Chasin and Amelia Granger are producing.

If talks are resolved successfully, McAdams would play the dream girl and she will replace New Girl‘s Zooey Deschanel, who had once been attached to the project.

Production is set to begin in London in June.

McAdams is no stranger to time travel themed romantic movies, having appeared alongside Eric Bana in The Time Traveller’s Wife. She also co-starred in the romantic hit The Vow earlier this year alongside Channing Tatum.

The in-demand actress is also attached to Most Wanted Man, a new thriller from Anton Corbijn that she is lining up to shoot after About Time, possibly in September.
