Razzies 2018: Transformers: The Last Knight leads nominations

Transformers: The Last Knight

Story by Jack Foley

MICHAEL Bay’s latest Transformers movie, The Last Knight lead this year’s nominees for the Razzies, Hollywood’s annual worst films list.

The film has collected nine nods in total, including worst screen combo. Leading man Mark Wahlberg does double duty with worst actor nominations for Transformers and Daddy’s Home 2, while Anthony Hopkins picked up two worst supporting actor nominations, for Transformers and Collide.

The other major contender for the Golden Raspberry awards is erotic sequel Fifty Shades Darker, which landed eight nominations, including worst actor and actress for Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.

Tom Cruise features among the seven nominations for The Mummy, as worst actor. His co-stars Russell Crowe and Sofia Boutella are also up for worst supporting actor and actress. The Mummy was also shortlisted for worst remake, rip-off or sequel.

Incredibly, three of last year’s worst reviewed films didn’t merit a nod: The Book of Henry, The Snowman and The Dark Tower all escaped the Razzies spotlight.

But Mother!, a twisted horror tale that earned critical acclaim but audience dismay, earned Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem and Darren Aronofsky nominations for worst actress, supporting actor and director, respectively.

The Razzies will be held on March 3, the day before the Oscars.
