Rebecca Ferguson joins The Greatest Showman

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

Story by Jack Foley

REBECCA Ferguson has joined the cast of PT Barnum musical The Greatest Showman.

The actress, who shot to prominence in last year’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, will line up alongside Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Zendaya in the project that will be directed by Michael Gracey.

She will play Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind, who worked for Barnum in 1950.

The film will chronicle the life of Barnum, who found world-wide fame as the founder of the circus that became the famous traveling Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Jackman is playing Barnum, while Efron stars as a playwright who becomes Barnum’s right-hand man. Williams will play Jackman’s love interest and Zendaya will play a trapeze artist that Efron’s character falls for.

Ferguson has become a hot property since scene-stealing from Tom Cruise in the last Mission: Impossible. She’ll shortly be seen alongside Emily Blunt in the eagerly anticipated adaptation of best-selling book The Girl on the Train and is also is part of the ensemble cast of the sci-fi thriller Life, which is being directed by Daniel Espinosa.
