Ridley Scott to direct All The Money In The World

Sir Ridley Scott directs Body of Lies

Story by Jack Foley

RIDLEY Scott is to direct Getty kidnapping drama All The Money In The World.

Based upon a Black List script from David Scarpa, the project would focus on the Mafia kidnapping of John Paul Getty III in 1973.

The screenplay follows Getty’s mother, Gail Harris, as she fights to get him back while his grandfather, oil tycoon John Paul Getty Sr., initially refuses to pay the set ransom.

Scott is currently finishing work on the latest instalment of his Alien franchise, Covenant, and is producing the upcoming Blade Runner sequel, Blade Runner 2049.

He is also attached to direct the adaptation of Don Winslow’s drug-running drama The Cartel.

Production on the project is due to take place in Italy, with Sony Pictures handling the worldwide distribution of the project.

Ironically, another Getty kidnapping saga is set for another adaptation in the form of an FX series entitled Trust. Danny Boyle is involved in the development of that project.
