Robert De Niro joins Michael Douglas for Last Vegas

What Just Happened

Story by Jack Foley

ROBERT De Niro is to star opposite Michael Douglas for the first time in Last Vegas.

The comedy, to be directed by Jon Turteltaub from a script by Dan (Crazy, Stupid, Love) Fogelman, centers on a quartet of retired ‘boomers’ who are called upon for a Las Vegas bachelor party by their friend, a ladies man who is finally settling down and marrying a woman half his age.

According to CBS Films, De Niro will play “the party-averse Paddy Connelly, who reluctantly agrees to fly to Vegas at the request of his friends”.

The Hollywood Reporter has further learned that the De Niro character will have a beef with Douglas’ character over a girl they liked when they were young.

The film marks Douglas’ first leading role post cancer and shooting is due to begin on location in Las Vegas in the autumn.
