Ron Perlman dons Hellboy make-up and makes Make-A-Wish child's day
Story by Jack Foley
RON Perlman has made a young boy’s dream come true by donning his Hellboy make-up and outfit and paying him a surprise visit in character.
The heart-warming story was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter after creature effects house Spectral Motion posted news of the special visit on their Facebook page with pictures.
It began when six-year-old Zachary, who is is undergoing treatment for leukemia, expressed to Make-A-Wish his desire “to meet and become Hellboy”.
Make-A-Wish approached Spectral Motion who, in turn, approached Perlman, who “loved the idea and donned the make-up once more”, sitting in the make-up chair for four hours and then shocking the delighted Zachary by fooling around with him in character.
Zachary himself then got the opportunity to become a pint-sized Hellboy himself, photos of which have also been posted on Facebook.
The day-long event marked the second time in the past three weeks that Spectral Motion has opened its doors to Make-A-Wish children.
Another fan, Caleb, was given a first-hand look at the animatronics behind some of the studio’s well-known creatures, which have included creations for X-Men: The Last Stand and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
