Star Wars stamps

Story by Jack Foley

THE Royal Mail is to issue a special edition set of Star Wars stamps to mark the latest film in the sci-fi franchise, The Last Jedi.

The set of eight are illustrated by artist Malcolm Tween and will be available to buy ahead of the December release of the movie – which marks the second in the new trilogy launched by Disney with The Force Awakens.

Royal Mail says the special edition stamps will feature images of new and classic characters with spaceships from the films. Hence, Maz Kanata, Chewbacca, Supreme Leader Snoke, R2-D2 and C-3PO are among those who will feature on the stamps.

Four of them will have details in fluorescent ink which will only be visible under a UV light.

The stamps will be on sale from October 12, 2017.

Royal Mail issued a previous set in 2015 to mark the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which proved incredibly popular.
