Rupert Grint and Chloe Moretz for Beach Boys biopic

Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince

Story by Jack Foley

RUPERT Grint and Chloë Grace Moretz have joined the all-star cast of Beach Boys biopic The Drummer.

The film will take a look at the life of the band’s drummer Dennis Wilson and already stars Aaron Eckhart in the lead role.

The film is being written and directed by Randall Miller and Jody Savin and also stars Vera Farmiga as Fleetwood Mac member and Wilson’s lover Christine McVie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project tackles the last six years of Wilson’s life, when the singer-songwriter released his acclaimed solo album Pacific Ocean Blue. He died in 1983.

Former Harry Potter star Grint will portray Stan Shapiro, the wide-eyed William Morris mailroom intern who became a close friend and confidante to the man, while Moretz is Wilson’s daughter, Jennifer Wilson, who was there while the musician went through the darkest days of his life.

Shooting is due to begin in June on location in California and Savannah, Georgia.
