Russell Brand joins Rock of Ages movie

RUSSELL Brand has joined the cast of Adam Shankman’s musical Rock of Ages alongside Tom Cruise.
The actor-comedian will play Lonny, a character who runs an ’80s-era rock club, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Shankman announced Brand’s participation in a tweet on Wednesday, saying: “I can officially announce Russell Brand as your Lonny in #rockofagesmovie! I see a mullet in his future…maybe a Nikki Six?”
Brand has previously worked with Shankman on Bedtime Stories
Based on the popular Broadway musical, which is also set to open in London’s West End the film will also feature newcomer Diego Gonzalez Boneta along with Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Paul Giamatti and Julianne Hough.
Brand can currently be heard as the voice of E.B., the Easter Bunny’s teenage son in Hop as well as comedy remake Arthur
