Russell Crowe confirmed for Darren Aronofsky's Noah

RUSSELL Crowe has confirmed that he will star in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah.

The film – a re-telling of the story of Noah’s Ark – is due to be released by Paramount in the US on March 28, 2014, with production now set to commence in Iceland and New York in July this year (2012).

Confirming Crowe’s casting, Aronofsky said in a statement: “I’d like to thank Paramount and Regency for backing my team’s work to breathe new life into the biblical epic.

“I rejoice that Russell Crowe will be by my side on this adventure. It’s his immense talent that helps me to sleep at night. I look forward to being wowed by him every day.”

Aronofsky co-wrote the script for Noah with Ari Handel and John Logan (of Hugo fame).

Crowe continues to be one of the most in-demand leading men in Hollywood and has recently completed Broken City and Man of Steel. He is currently filming Les Miserables”:/Film-Review/russell-crowe-in-talks-for-les-miserables.
