RYAN Reynolds, Hugh Laurie and Mark Ruffalo are to be awarded stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The brass stars emblazoned on Hollywood Boulevard honour personalities from music, film and TV for achievement in the entertainment industry.

Reynolds is best known for films including The Proposal and this year’s box office smash Deadpool.

Ruffalo starred in this year’s Oscar-winning movie Spotlight but also is widely known for his role as The Hulk in Marvel’s Avengers films.

Laurie shot to prominence playing House in the long-running US TV series but more recently won more acclaim for his villainous role in hit BBC spy drama The Night Manager.

The trio will be joined on the Boulevard in 2017 by fellow actors Amy Adams, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Goldie Hawn, Eva Longoria and Jurassic World‘s Chris Pratt.

Musicians to be awarded a star include Ice Cube, John Legend and NSync – Justin Timberlake’s former boy band. The group split up in 2002 but, until recently, held the record for the fastest-selling album in US history for their 2000 album No Strings Attached until Adele’s 25 broke it last year.

Announcing the new batch of recipients, The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said the Walk of Fame selection committee had received “hundreds of nominations” for the latest round of stars.

The committee’s chairman, Vin Di Bona, said the new inductees were “a great group of talent that will appeal to the tastes of many fans around the world”.
