Story by Jack Foley
SPIDER-Man director Sam Raimi is to direct a live-action film adaptation of the popular game, World of Warcraft.
According to Variety, Raimi will supervise the development of the project while making Spider-Man 4, and then direct it once he has completed work on Spidey.
Warcraft will be based on the epic universe created by the games franchise, which follows the ongoing conflict between the Horde and the Alliance.
Since its launch in 1994, the game has continued to grow in popularity, with its most recent instalment, Wrath of the Lich King, selling more than 2.8 million copies on its first day of release and over four million in its first month.
Raimi says of Warcraft: “At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story.”
Shooting on Spider-Man 4 is due to begin early next year. Raimi’s most recent film, Drag Me To Hell, is still on general release.
