Story by Jack Foley
SAM Worthington is to star in murder mystery Texas Killing Fields.
The Avatar star will play a local homicide detective who teams up with a New York colleague to investigate two decades of disappearances and murders that took place in the industrial wastelands surrounding Gulf Coast refineries.
Based on a true story, the incident is believed to have led to the discovery of as many as 60 victims.
The film will be produced by Michael Mann and directed by his daughter, Ami Canaan Mann, and is based on a script by Donald F. Ferrarone. Shooting is due to start in April in Louisiana, according to Variety.
The casting of Worthington completes a busy few months for the actor, who has also become attached to the sci-fi project, The Last Days of American Crime, and who was recently shooting the John Madden-helmed remake of The Debt opposite Helen Mirren.
