Les Miserables

Story by Jack Foley

LES Miserables star Samantha Barks and Boardwalk Empire actor Charlie Cox have joined the cast of a new movie version of Dracula.

They join the previously announced Luke Evans and fellow newcomers Icelandic actor Thor Kristjansson and Game of Thrones star Art Parkinson on the big budget adaptation.

To be directed by Gary Shore, Dracula will take the form of an origins story that sees a Transylvanian prince risk eternal damnation in order to save his wife and son from a Turkish horde.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Barks will play a figure in Eastern European folk tales known as a baba yaga, a beautiful young woman who turns into a savage witch, although it is not yet known who Cox will play.

Kristjansson will play Bright Eyes, a vicious assassin in the Ottoman Army and Parkinson will play Dracula’s son, Ingeras.

Dominic Cooper and Sarah Gadon are also among the ensemble.

Shooting is due to start in August on location in Belfast ahead of a release date of August 8, 2014, in the US.
