SANDRA Bullock is reportedly in early talks to join Quvenzhane Wallis and Jamie Foxx in the remake of Annie.

Will Smith and Jay-Z are producing the update for Sony Pictures and are negotiating with the Oscar-winning actress to take on the role of Miss Hannigan, the mean lady who runs the orphanage inhabited by Annie (Wallis) and her friends.

Foxx has already signed up to play a modern incarnation of Daddy Warbucks, a billionaire named Benjamin Stacks.

The Hollywood Reporter says this is the second time the two parties have talked about the possibility of teaming up. After the first time in March this year, Bullock passed.

She would be stepping into the role so memorably played by Carol Burnett in the 1982 movie.

Will Gluck is directing the project, which is due to start shooting in the autumn with a view to being completed in time for release in 2014.

Bullock will next be seen in mis-matched buddy cop comedy The Heat with Melissa McCarthy. And she will soon be seen alongside George Clooney in Alfonso Cuarón’s sci-fi movie Gravity.
