Sean Bean joins Death Race 2

BRITISH actor Sean Bean is to star alongside Luke Goss in straight-to-DVD prequel Death Race 2.
The film, which is being released as part of Universal’s DVD Originals banner, will serve as an origins story for the character of Frankenstein, a convicted cop killer (played by Goss) who is sent to prison just as a racing reality show is about to be born within its corrupt system.
Bean and Goss will be joined by Lauren Cohan, Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo and Frederick Koehler.
Paul WS Anderson, who directed the 2008 movie starring Jason Statham, is producing with Jeremy Bolt.
Filming has already begun in South Africa.
The most revent DVD Original title released by Universal was Smokin’ Aces 2: Assassins’ Ball
Bean, who most recently played Zeus in Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief, has also completed HBO series, A Game of Thrones
